School Social Worker Support

The School Social Worker brings a mental health perspective to school sites and implement interventions to address barriers to learning and promote the healthy development of all students.  The School Social Worker assists students, families, teachers, and the school in addressing barriers to learning while also promoting healthy development.  Research demonstrates that effective student support services improve academic performance. The services provided by our School Social Worker include but are not limited to:

Enhancing academic motivation and achievement 
Strengthening communication skills 
Increasing bonding at school and at home 
Improving school attendance 
Providing a mental health perspective 
Coordinating student support structures, such as CARE team and Student Success Teams (SST) 
Reducing classroom behavior problems 
Enhancing school climate and safety
